There’s nothing magical about six speeds – it’s just a reference to the number of forward gears a car has. No, I don’t drive something with six speeds, but I thought it would sound cooler than “fourspeed.” The Formula One world has long been using seven forward speeds in their race cars and some of the latest European luxury cars are putting them into their passenger cars. All that pales in comparison to commercial trucks which use 18 speeds and mountain bikes with 24.

Having been blogging long before blogging became such a global phenomenon, The Six Speed Bimonthly represents the fifth iteration of my online identity. This site focuses on current topics concerning the automotive industry, which interestingly, was the premise of my first personal website in 2001. Over the years, my websites have grown both in content and size. Five years later, I have come a full circle, but this time, with a tighter focus on something that I’m truly passionate about.
